How awesome it was to meet such wonderful girls at our first Daisy meeting! I am excited to start a journey along with the girls to reach upward and forward in life. Girls are surely flowers- sweet, interesting, sometimes prickly, very fragile however weather through alot and above all need nuture, love and care. At least this is my view with my own daughter...
What we did for our first meeting:
We did our daisy ring. We sat in a circle saying our names and something we liked to do. The girls were very shy. I am sure that will change. We then went over some rules and girl scout signs such as the Quiet sign, the handshake and of course the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
We had the girls practice and recite the Promise a few times while I collected the registrations and other paper work from parents.
We then got the girls to do a Thanksgiving craft about THANKFULNESS.
We had snack and took pictures. We ended with a friendship circle and did our squeeze handshake.
I think it was very successful with the help of my other leaders and great participation from a few moms. Thank you so very much.
Next meeting is December 8th at 12:30 at the Library. Have girls practice their promise!
